Hello, I’m Ilami Yasna.

I got an MBA, worked as a business analyst, founded an advertising agency and a software development studio, wrote two books on small business, and then switched to academia. I have obtained BA in philosophy and MA in religion studies. Currently, I am planning to defend my PhD thesis in philosophy in 2024 and have enrolled in my second PhD program in computational sociology.

Since 2022, when I was forced to escape the war in Ukraine, I have been a visiting fellow at the University of Vienna, the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of Polish Academy of Sciences, and the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (ongoing).

I am interested in normative and applied ethics, sociology of morality, sociology of knowledge, threats to democracy and liberalism, and totalitarian regimes. My methodological preferences comprise experimental philosophy and computational social sciences with an emphasis on big-data analysis and AI-augmented agent-based modeling as applied to moral behavior and decision-making.

Last but not least, I am an avid runner, motor-biker, traveler, and a fan of cats :)
